My Personal Look at the "Gochi Effect"

My Personal Experience:

Approximately 14 months ago, I began taking FreeLife International's Himalayan Goji juice.  My mom had heard of it through a friend and told me that it had some amazing health and healing benefits.  Having just recovered from a serious medical challenge where I lost about 75% of my left lung, I was obviously intrigued with the idea of the health benefits and began taking it.  Within about 30 days, I began to feel as though I had more energy and more zest. 

I had just started working out again after several months of doing little or no workouts following my surgery, so initially, I was very sore, but noticed that I began recovering more quickly from my workouts.  I also noticed that I was able to sleep better and also wake up easier.  I will also tell you that along with the Goji juice, I also began a program of improved diet and nutrition and a conscious effort to drink more water.  I'm not saying that Goji was 100% responsible for my newfound feeling of better health, but my conclusion is that anything we do has to be a combined and balanced commitment. I firmly believe that taking Himalayan Goji is a major part of my ability to live the abundant and active life that I live after being through so many physical challenges.

My time of caution and reluctance:

Himalayan Goji juice is marketed and sold through a direct distribution and sales network company called FreeLife International.

I've been involved in other types of direct marketing companies and can personally attest to the fact that many of them have earned the reputation as being "pyramid scams" or otherwise unscrupulous, so I was very reluctant about joining FreeLife as a marketing executive.  I didn't want to get involved with anything again that I couldn't put 110% of myself into and feel good about doing it.

My friend, Jill Hawtrey had contacted me about the possibility of doing Goji as a business back in May of 2007, but I did not want to get into it from a business standpoint until I had done my own research and evaluation of the company which I did over the past 8 months.




Taking the Plunge:

After 8 months of evaluating the product, the business opportunity, the company, and how to become involved with Goji as a business, I decided to do it and ordered a case to both use for myself and also to sell.

Within 2 days, my first case was sold out! I almost couldn't believe how people were enjoying the taste and how quick they were to purchase a bottle, but apparently, people out there are genuinely interested in doing things to help improve their health and well being.  I'm now well into my 8th case and my "team" is catching the Gochi Fever and starting to really make this business go.  My wife and kids love the stuff and every time I go home, I find an empty bottle in the fridge!

Evaluating it for yourself:

Network marketing as a home based business is definitely not for everyone.  It's not easy.  It's not "money for nothing" or any kind of "get rich quick" scheme.  Like any business of any value, it takes a lot of hard work, discipline and commitment and a belief that there is more to life than the paradigms that we've been trained to accept.

But, it works. Network marketing as an industry has helped more people gain their financial independence than any other home based business and there is opportunity out there for anyone interested in being rewarded for their hard work.

When I was looking at Goji as an opportunity for myself, there were several questions I asked and would recommend that ANYONE thinking about getting involved in a network marketing opportunity should also ask.

1. Do I believe in the product 100%?

2. Am I passionate about the product enough to share it with others?

3. Is the company reputable and are they going to be around for the next 5, 10, 15 years?

4. Is the product "consumable" - meaning, are sales of the product to its consumers going to be repetitive?

5. Is the product unique - meaning, can consumers go elsewhere and get the same product in stores or outlets at a discounted price?

6. Is there "upline" support that I can personally trust to help me build my business?

As I went through each one of these questions, I found my answer a resounding "YES" to every single one.

I believe in the product so much that I now carry it here in my learning center and recommend it to all of my students as something they should be doing in addition to diet and exercise to help them build a better body and a better golf game.
